Here's where the spice trade actually happens.
1. Madhupura Market
If there's one place that deserves the title "spice hub of Ahmedabad," it's Madhupura, near Delhi Darwaza. This old wholesale market is where established names like Karnavati Spices and rkj Spices & Dryfruits operate from, and it's the go-to spot for groceries, dry fruits, whole spices, and oil in bulk. The lanes are narrow and parking is genuinely difficult, so a two-wheeler is your best bet if you're going to browse rather than just placing a phone order.

It's busy nearly every day but especially crowded on weekends, so if you're buying in bulk, weekday mornings work better.

New Cloth Market in Sarangpur is primarily known for textiles — it's one of the largest cloth wholesale markets in the city — but it also has a smaller, lesser-known section dealing in spices and condiments like curry leaves, fennel seeds, and mustard seeds, mostly catering to traders who are already there for fabric and pick up spices on the side.

A note on the markets that don't actually belong on this list
Ratan Pole, despite frequently showing up in "Ahmedabad spice market" roundups online, is overwhelmingly a textile and bridal-wear market — sarees, lehengas, and wedding shopping, not spices. Revdi Bazaar (in Panchkuva/Kalupur) is similarly known for wholesale cloth rather than spices.
